Biography

Captain Ian K. Douglas

Lt Douglas was raised and educated in Maple Creek, Sask. He graduated grade 12 from Maple Creek Composite High School June 1980. Lt Douglas joined the Cadet movement as a cadet April 75 and attended various courses at Vernon Army Cadet Camp. He also served as a Staff Cadet Vernon Camp 79-80. In Sept 80 Lt Douglas enrolled as a Civilian Instructor and subsequently enrolled in the CIL as an officer Aug 81. He served as Training Officer Aug 81 until Oct 84 when he assumed the position of Commanding Officer of 463 RCACC, Maple Creek. Throughout his tour with the CIL he attended certain courses – Basic Repelling 1982, Range Safety Officer 84 and 88, Basic Officer Qualifying Feb 86 and Lt Qualifying Oct 89.

Lt Douglas and his wife Sally have two children. They enjoy outdoor activities, canoeing, hunting, fishing, bow hunting and camping. He is also an avid amateur photographer.
