COMMANDING OFFICER

Captain Jennifer Gebhardt was born in Medicine Hat in 1981 and she has lived there all her life.

She joined the 2313 South Alberta Light Horse RCACC in 1996, and went through the ranks from recruit to aging out at the rank of Warrant Officer in 1999. As a cadet, she spent  the summer of 1998 on her Cadet Leader Course in Vernon, and went to Penhold as a staff cadet in 1999.  She then became a volunteer with 2313 SALH (Kiwanis) RCACC until she became an officer in September 2000. Captain Gebhardt then returned to Vernon again as an officer. She received her commission in November 2001. She has filled in the roles of Administration Officer, Star Level Officer, Training Officer, Deputy Commanding Officer, and Commanding Officer.  She is a qualified RSO Air and she coaches the biathlon and shooting teams. She was promoted to Captain in May 2012. She received her Canadian Decoration in September of 2012. In 2013 she received Honour Officer of Southern Alberta award from the Army Cadet League of Alberta.

In 2006 she received her Diploma in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Medicine Hat College. Captain Gebhardt is employed at Defence Research and Development Canada as the Acting Financial Services Officer.

Captain Gebhardt has one son named Joshua.
