VOLUNTEER WITH CADETS

JOIN OUR RANKS AS A VOLUNTEER

BECOMING A VOLUNTEER

Thank you for your interest in wanting to volunteer with Canada’s best youth organization!

Our organization is made up of both volunteer military volunteers AND civilian volunteers. Military experience is not required to volunteer.

The safety and security of our cadets and staff members is our number one priority. Before anyone can begin volunteering (military or civilian) with our unit, a candidate must complete a Police Records Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check. This applies to all volunteers (military or civilian).

We have two types of volunteers:

  • Support Committee volunteers
  • Training volunteers

Click the tabs below to learn the roles and responsibilities of each type of volunteer.

The Support Committee looks after a number of areas including: organizing fundraising activities, coordinating canteen refreshments on parade nights, organizing food for weekend activities, assist with publicizing our amazing program, soliciting sponsorships, and much more. Learn more about the committee.

Are you a parent, former cadet, or someone within the community looking to get involved? Great! We would love to have you join our team in supporting our local community’s youth! We are always looking for people who are eager to help in various small projects; only requiring a few hours a month of your time. If you want to do more to get involved, that’s even better – there’s a lot to do!

Send us an email letting us know who you are, how you would like to help, and any relevant skills or qualifications you may have. Whether you are an accountant, tradesman, local business person or a homemaker, these are all skills we can utilize!

Military volunteers assist in a variety of roles for the training, operations, administration, and logistical success of the unit.

A Support Committee Volunteer should have:
  • Availability in their schedule (a proper balance between work, family life, and other commitments);

  • Dependable and Responsible like qualities;
  • Previous experience with youth;
  • Primary Leadership Qualification (PLQ)*; and
  • A completed Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) / Police Vulnerable Sector Screening Check
