MESSAGE FROM THE SUPPORT COMMITTEE

HAVE YOU NOTICED?

Yes, there is a parent support committee for the Army Cadets. We are a group of parents who provide support to the Corps and by having a child in Army Cadets, you are all members.

We have a general meeting on the last Thursday of the month, all members are encouraged to attend.

The committee has been working hard to provide for some of the needs of the corps. We purchased sleeping bags, liners, rucsacks and a trailer to help improve the corps ability to provide a comfortable expedition experience. We are planning to purchase tents to replace the smaller, old tents the corps has access to. With increased equipment, the corps can provide more activities for the kids.

We are committed to the marksmanship program as well. We recently supported the
purchase of laser training equipment. We hope this will allow for a strong team in the
future.

We have also supported the Halloween and Christmas activities as well as fun activities during sports nights. Our fundraising team this year has been excellent. The fundraising activities we do directly support the cadets! Our next opportunity will be the bacon drive, coming up very soon.

The committee is currently working on three major projects. First, we are looking at year end activities. Secondly, we are planning for a day trip activity for next year. Finally, we are beginning to plan a major trip for the cadets. We welcome your input.

KEEPING IN CONTACT

GETTING THE INFORMATION

Have you signed up to receive messages through Team Snap?

We are trying to communicate through this site, allowing parents and cadets to learn about upcoming events and activities.

Please get a form from the office for us to load in your information.

We want to hear from you, if you have questions, concerns, suggestions or general comments please contact us at 2313rcaccspcmte@gmail.com

You are also always welcome at the parent support meetings (we have been known to have coffee and donuts on occasion).

PARENT SUPPORT COMMITTEE

WHAT IS IT?

The Support Committee fulfills a critical role in fundraising to support corps activities as well as supporting us in numerous other aspects of program delivery. Each parent is automatically a member of the committee upon having a child join the corps. The Support Committee meets monthly, the same day as CO’s parades. Meetings are held at the Armoury. Drop off your cadet, attend the Support Committee meeting, then watch your cadet on parade!

Without a vibrant and dynamic committee, this corps could not offer the incredible training program that we do. You are highly encouraged parents to get involved with the Support Committee.
